Amazon Workers on Strike in Germany a Week Before Christmas

Workers at two Amazon distribution centers in Germany have gone on strike for better working conditions. The German news agency dpa reported workers went on strike early Monday.

The German trade union Verdi called the strike to demand Amazon raise pay for workers in line with collective bargaining agreements in Germany and industry standards.

The union representing the workers says workers at Amazon receive lower wages than others in retail jobs in Germany.

The latest strike comes a week before Christmas and could potentially impact deliveries in Germany. Less than a month ago, Amazon workers in Germany and Spain went on strike on Black Friday.
