Yellow Vests take France’s streets for 11th consecutive Saturday

Tens of thousands of Yellow Vest protesters took the streets across France for the 11th consecutive Saturday to protest against President Macron’s policies. Riot police attacked protesters in several cities.

Police fired tear gas and water cannons at protesters at Place de la Bastille.

Police reported 223 arrests in Paris, while the interior ministry estimated numbers for the 11th week of protests around 70,000 across France.

Demonstrations were sparked by a fuel tax hike, but have expanded into wider rallies calling for drastic change, along with the resignation of the president, an out of touch former investment banker.
