Prison Guard Arrested for Stabbing Inmate in South Carolina Prison

Columbia, South Carolina: A prison guard was arrested Tuesday for stabbing an inmate and trying to cover it up.

While working at Kirkland Correctional Institution, Jarrell Boyan is said to have used a knife or shank to stab an inmate several times. He then told other officers to lie and cover up the crime. It is unclear if other officers were charged for lying to investigators.

Jarrell Boyan was charged with deprivation of rights under color of law and obstruction of justice, according to a statement from the FBI.
