Riot cops fire rubber bullets and tear gas at Yellow Vests marching through Paris for victims of police violence

The Yellow Vests took the streets across France again today, marking the 12th consecutive Saturday of demonstrations. Riot police did not hesitate to fire rubber bullets and tear gas at protesters, many who were wearing eye patches in support of Jerome Rodrigues, 40, who was blinded last weekend, some with targets drawn on them.

This week’s demonstrations had a shift in focus for the Yellow Vests, they highlighted those injured in previous weeks of police violence to crush the uprising. 1,900 people have been injured since the ‘Gilets Jaunes’ demonstrations were sparked in November.

Government officials said 80,000 cops were deployed across the country, with 5,000 in Paris.
