ICE agents have been monitoring protests and tracking protesters in New York. According to internal documents published by The Nation on Monday, ICE agents have been using an “Anti-Trump Protest” spreadsheet to track demonstrations against deportations and protests against neo-Nazis and white supremacy.
The report shows ICE’s investigative arm has been keeping track of left-leaning events in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The practice was revealed in emails sent by ICE which contained an “Anti-Trump Protest Spreadsheet 07/31/2018,” detailing the time, location and organizers of 17 events happening over 17 days.
None of the events had a connection to ICE’s focus on “cross-border criminal activity.”
