Los Angeles Gangs Hold Largest Peace Rally in Nearly 30 Years in Honor of Nipsey Hussle

In the wake of the murder of Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom, Rival Los Angeles gangs from Watts, Compton, Inglewood, and Los Angeles met on Thursday and Friday to honor the murdered rapper and community leader, with a call for peace.

On Friday, the rally began at a grocery store in Crenshaw and moved toward Hussle’s store, The Marathon Clothing, where he was murdered on March 31st.

The community march was meant to initiate larger prolonged peace. Local media reports there have not been this many gangs united for peace in almost thirty years.

Memorials and vigils have sprung up around LA, paying homage to Hussle’s widespread community impact.
