900 People Imprisoned at Texas Concentration Camp With 125-Person Capacity

A report published Friday, from the Homeland Security inspector general found “dangerous overcrowding” and unsanitary conditions at a Customs and Border Protection concentration camp in El Paso, Texas.

“Border Patrol agents told us some of the detainees had been held in standing-room-only conditions for days or weeks,” the Office of Inspector General wrote.

The report said the El Paso Del Norte concentration camp held as many as 900 people earlier this month even though the facility only has the capacity for 125.

“CBP was struggling to maintain hygienic conditions in the holding cells. With limited access to showers and clean clothing, detainees were wearing soiled clothing for days or weeks,” the report said.
