US Oil and Gas Production Surges at Fastest Pace in History

US natural gas and crude oil production increased at the fastest pace in history for a single country last year. The surge in output was enough to fuel the entire UK and 40% more than the previous record.

US gas output jumped 86 billion cubic meters in 2018, the largest one year increase by any country in history, according to statistics published by BP Plc, almost 40 percent more than the previous record set by Russia in 2010.

US oil output surged 2.2 million barrels a day, also the biggest increase in history by a single country in a year.
