On Wednesday afternoon, workers at the home goods store Wayfair staged a walkout. The workers are protesting Wayfair’s business relationship with Donald Trump’s administration- supplying home goods to ICE concentration camps.
Last week, Wayfair workers found out that the company was providing beds for a new ICE facility in Texas.
When workers learned of their complicity in the imprisonment of children, more than 500 wrote a letter to the company’s executives demanding that the company cease cooperating with the federal government.
“We believe that the current actions of the United States and their contractors at the southern border do not represent an ethical partnership Wayfair should choose to be a part of,” the workers wrote.
The companies CEO and other executives, in a response to workers, rejected the request, prompting the walkout protest.
A broader boycott movement is growing against the company.
