Immigration Rights Activists Arrested During Sit-In at Joe Biden’s Headquarters

Six people participating in a sit-in at the campaign headquarters of Joe Biden were arrested Wednesday. Protesters were demanding an apology from the former vice president for the deportation of 3 million people under the Obama administration. An immigrant rights group, Movimiento Cosecha, organized the sit-in.

“Opposing Trump’s policies and returning to a status quo of silent deportations is not good enough,” the group said on Facebook.

Arrests were just made as immigrants and allies continue to demand that @JoeBiden, and all presidential candidates, commit to an immigration platform that ensures dignity for all undocumented people.

Movimiento Cosecha has issued a call to end detentions and deportations, legalize undocumented immigrants in the US, and to reunite families separated by the US government’s detentions and deportations.
