As ICE agents across the country begin raids targeting families, many people have taken to the streets to protest and decry the terrorism against immigrant communities.
“This is not a “rule of law” operation, the goal is to terrorize immigrant communities so immigrants do not seek protection in the US.” Ali Noorani, with the National Immigration Forum, said in a tweet.
Immigration raids were expected in major US cities on Sunday, sparking fear and protests, as thousands work to protect those in peril.
Thousands of protesters have gathered for marches and rallies across the US against the ICE mass raids.
Former Department of Homeland Security official and acting director of ICE, John Sandweg said in an interview with NBC on Friday that the announcement of the mass national raid was for Trump’s political gain.
